ABS on Mo Twister Scandal: "We are Self-Regulating

ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz” chose not to air an official statement from Mo Twister on the alleged leaked video of him confessing the supposed abortion of his ex-girlfriend Rhian Ramos, because of self-regulation.

“The Buzz” host Boy Abunda said Mo’s official statement contained sensitive issues, which they decided not to air.

“Para balanse po ang aming pagsasalaysay, hiningi po ng “The Buzz” ang panig ni Mo. Kanina po nagpadala na si Mo at ang kampo nila ng official statement. We would like to thank Mo and his management. Pero dahil sa sensitibo ang nilalaman nito, as a program, “The Buzz” at lahat po kami, ang pamunuan ng “The Buzz,” we are self-regulating and decided not to read it,” Boy said.

Mo has denied having a hand in uploading the said video entitled “RepairedMovie.mov” on YouTube. The video was under the username PrettyJenny55.

“I know i sold many of my things including computers that i had erased. apparently, someone "repaired" the erased files/hard drive and uploaded some personal files of mine,” Mo tweeted on Friday, December 2.

GMA Network, where Rhian is a contract artist, announced on Friday, December 2, that it will file charges against Mo for “malicious and false imputations against the network in his video posted this (Friday) afternoon on YouTube.”

In a report on “The Buzz” on Sunday, December 4, the entertainment talk show asked for GMA Artist Center’s official statement regarding Rhian’s implication in the issue but did not get any response. “The Buzz” also showed the statement of Felipe Gozon, GMA’s network chair and chief executive officer, to Philippine Daily Inquirer on Saturday, December 3.

“He is out to destroy Rhian. Not to mention that it’s ungentlemanly. You shouldn’t talk about a former girlfriend that way,” Gozon told Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Rhian’s legal counsel, Lorna Kapunan, also told Philippine Daily Inquirer in the same quoted article that she will file for a Temporary Protection Order in Muntinlupa City on Monday, December 5.

Kapunan explained that Mo violated RA 9262, which says that “Violence against women covers not only married and live-in couples, but also dating relationships.”

“Even if made on social networking sites, these acts constitute psychological and emotional violence,” she added.
