No World Title for Binibining Pilipinas 2011!

Ms. Cory Quirino has been named the new Miss World director for the Philippines!

The Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) of Madam Stella Araneta has lost a feather from its cap. They just lost the Miss World franchise and starting 2011, they will be sending delegates to the Miss Universe and Miss International pageants and no longer in Miss World.

Talkshow host and wellness guru Cory Quirino, on the other hand, secured the rights to organize the oldest beauty pageant in the Philippines after Fusion Excel International (FE) has been appointed to manage the selection of the 2011 Miss World candidates in Malaysia and the Philippines.

But which network will Cory Quirino give the airing rights for Miss World Philippines 2011, ABS-CBN, GMA or TV5?

Regine and Ogie Wedding Photo

(one photo here)

Manila (Asia News Network) - Famous Filipino singers Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez were officially wedded Wednesday (December 22) in a ceremony attended by the glitziest personalities in Philippine show business.

According to reports and tweets of visitors at the lavish wedding in Terrazas de Punta Fuego in Batangas Province, about two hours outside Manila, the bride was wearing a red gown by Hollywood designer Monique Lhullier.

Based on the photos posted by Filipino celebrity designer Rajo Laurel, the bride matched her non-traditional red gown with a metal studded black rocker boots.

The entourage were wearing different hues.

Laurel mentioned in his tweets that the bride, who sang her own vows, became emotional while the groom replied "I'll be your Reginean, your Brad Pitt, and Justin Bieber..."

Velasquez ended her vows with the words "I've never felt so happy all my life".

Among the showbiz personalities and politicians in attendance was Philippine President Benigno Aquino III who served as one of the groomsmen.

Alcasid and Velasquez were instrumental in the campaign of Aquino last May elections. Alcasid composed a song for the 50-year bachelor President's campaign and inauguration while Velasquez and other personalities sang in the video.

The affair was touted as the wedding of the year because of years of anticipation from adoring Filipino fans. Alcasid and Velasquez are regular hosts of a noontime weekly variety show in the Philippines. They also appear in TV series and movies.

This is the first marriage for Velasquez and second for Alcasid, who was divorced from Australian Michelle van Eimeren, a former beauty queen.

Van Eimeren, who personally made the flower arrangement, was present at the wedding along with their two daughters.

Tim Yap Scandal

“Eto na, PCSO confirms one winner—his name is Miko Morelos. He gets to take home the P741.2M peso Grand Lotto 6/55 Jackpot! #magtagokana!”

Tim Yap said in his Twitter account (@iamtimyap Tim Yap)

What was appalling was the hundreds of people falling for the false information. They even set up a fan page on Facebook encouraging Morelos to spend the money wisely, while not taking seriously the clarifications from the Inquirer Twitter account and “Mr. Bigshot socialite” (Yap) himself.

Yap continued with his tweets:
“And guess what? Miko Morelos is on twitter! @mikomorelos I already sent a request. He protected his tweets already. #afraidforhislife,” @iamtimyap Tim Yap said.

He tried to clarify the matter when he tweeted: “Okay, ladies& gents excited about the winner of the lotto jackpot—I received reports that Miko Morelos is the Inquirer reporter who reported about the lotto. Not necessarily the winner. #sorrynacarriedawaylahat.”

HINDI PO SI MIKO MORELOS ANG NANALO!
SIYA PO ANG NAG-ANNOUNCE NA MAY NANALO NA!
